Mom's home again
My mom is an amazing woman!!! She was diagnosed with lung cancer at
thanksgiving (ok, four days later on my sister's birthday). She had
her right lung (the smaller of the two) removed, 6 days before
Christmas. She was released to come home on Christmas eve. Which was
the best gift ever!!! (besides Jesus dying for me) she finished
radiation last Friday. I accompioned my mom this past Monday to
Houston for a ct, blood work, and a dr appt to discuss her chemo,
which will start April 9th and go for every 3 weeks for 3 or 4 months.
For chemo, they will have to hydrate her for a couple of hours and
then chemo thru an iv and could take 3-7 hours. She will lose her hair
(after second treatment). We have tried on many wigs and have aleady
gone public with them (yes, both if us). We went to the UT baseball
game last Sunday and to NASA on Tuesday in our fancy-no-bad-hair-day
wigs. Wednesday we went back to NASA in our ghetto hats. We had to go
back bc everybody was on spring break too!!! In the afternoon we went
to kemah boardwalk for more fun. Wednesday night we went to lakeside
church (Joel, his mom, and his brother spoke and were great!!!)
Thursday, my mom had to have a hernia repaired. I do not think
anything stops her!!! I pray she is healing well. We are back home
(wimberley, my mom's house at the ranch) Please keep her in your
prayers.
